Welcome to DataMaster Prep. This page describes exactly what the app sends, what it stores, and where — and the terms the app is offered under. It is written to match what the app actually does.

Privacy Policy

1. Signing in

DataMaster Prep is a study app for the CDMP certification exam: multiple-choice questions, explanations, a timed mock exam and progress tracking.

You sign in with an email address and password, or with Google or Apple. Accounts are handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. Signing in returns a token which is stored on your device and expires on its own. Your password is never stored on your device, and the app never downloads any other account’s details.

2. What we collect

• The identifier you sign in with, and an account identifier.
• The date you last signed in, so unused accounts can be identified.
• Nothing else. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
• Apart from signing in, the app runs offline: your answers, scores, bookmarks, statistics and saved sessions never leave your device.
• We never receive or store payment details. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google, who tell the app only whether a purchase exists.

3. How your information is used

• Your sign-in identifier is used only to confirm that your account is still active.
• Your study data is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
• Signing out clears your sign-in token. Signing in as a different user on the same device clears the previous user’s study data, so results are not shared between people.
• We do not sell, rent or share any information with anyone.

4. Third-party services

• Firebase Authentication (Google) — creates and verifies accounts, and stores the email address associated with one.
• Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple — used only if you choose them; each tells us the email address on the account.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — handle any purchase and refund under their own privacy policies. The app is told only that a purchase exists; it never sees your payment details.
• Google Fonts — the app downloads its typeface from Google’s servers the first time it runs, which discloses your IP address to Google.
• swift-time.com — our own server, used only to verify a sign-in.
• There are no advertising networks, analytics services or tracking tools.

5. Data security

• Passwords are never stored in a readable form. They are held by Firebase, or where held on our own server, only as a bcrypt hash — which cannot be read back by anyone, including us.
• All sign-in traffic uses an encrypted HTTPS connection.
• Repeated failed sign-in attempts from the same address are temporarily blocked.
• Your study data stays on your device, so it is covered by your device’s own encryption and backup settings.

6. Deleting your account

• You can delete your account from inside the app at any time: Settings → Account → Delete account.
• Deleting is immediate and permanent. Your account is removed from our authentication provider, and your results, statistics, bookmarks, history and any unfinished quiz are erased from the device.
• Your purchase is not cancelled by deleting your account: it belongs to your App Store or Google Play account, and “Restore purchase” brings it back.
• If you cannot reach the app, email [email protected] from the address on the account and we will delete it for you.

7. Children’s privacy

• The app is a professional certification study tool and is not directed at children.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the app asks for no personal details beyond an email address.

8. Changes to this policy

We update this page whenever the app’s behaviour changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

Terms of Use

1. What this app is

DataMaster Prep is a study aid for the CDMP certification exam. The questions are written for practice. They are not past exam papers, and the app is not affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by DAMA International or any certifying body. Passing practice questions here is not a guarantee of passing the exam.

2. Free use and the purchase

The app is free to install and try. Every feature works without paying: timed quizzes, the mock exam, statistics, the mistakes bank, bookmarks, search and history. What the free version gives you is a sample of the question bank — 2 questions from each of the 14 knowledge areas — which is enough to see how the app works and not enough to prepare with. A single in-app purchase unlocks all 500 questions.

3. One payment, no renewal

Full access is a one-time purchase. It is not a subscription, nothing renews and nothing is charged again. It is tied to the App Store or Google Play account used to buy it, and can be restored on any device signed in to that same store account with “Restore purchase” on the Full access screen.

4. Payment and refunds

Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us, and is subject to that store’s terms. Refunds are requested from the store as well: on iOS through reportaproblem.apple.com, on Android through Google Play. We cannot issue or reverse a charge ourselves.

5. Your account and your data

Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. Your answers, scores and settings are stored on your device. Signing in as a different user on the same device clears the previous user’s study data and their purchase from that device — the buyer restores it with “Restore purchase”.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. It is immediate and cannot be undone: the account is removed, and your results, statistics, bookmarks, history and any unfinished quiz are erased from the device. Deleting the account does not cancel or refund your purchase — that belongs to your store account and can be restored on a new account with “Restore purchase”.

7. Fair use

The questions and explanations are ours. You may study them; you may not copy, republish, resell or redistribute them, in bulk or otherwise, and you may not attempt to bypass the purchase.

8. Changes

Questions may be added, corrected or removed as the material improves, and these terms may be updated. Continuing to use the app after an update means accepting the updated terms.
